Our chapter actively engages students about the American Revolutionary period through contests and educational presentations. We sponsor annual competitions that encourage students to explore key events, figures, and challenges of the War for American Independence. These contests begin at the chapter level, where winners advance to the State Society. State winners then compete at the national level, where winners are honored at the SAR National Congress each summer.
In addition to contests, we offer classroom presentations that bring the Revolutionary War to life. Students gain a deeper understanding of pivotal events such as the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the Siege of Boston, and the signing of the Declaration of Independence, as well as the struggles and sacrifices that led to American independence.
