In the summer of 1776, fifty-six brave individuals put their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor on the line by signing a document that would change the course of human history. To celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States, the John Paul Jones Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) invites the community to a live, public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
This landmark Semiquincentennial event serves as a powerful reminder of our shared heritage and the enduring principles of liberty and equality. As we stand on the shores of Liberty Bay, join us in giving voice to the words that defined a nation and continue to inspire the world.

The mission of Scouting America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Discovery is at the heart of Scouting. Whether it’s a campout, derby car race, or hike on the trail, we believe every adventure helps us uncover a little more about ourselves. We build the foundations for humility and compassion—strengthening character through actions—to prepare youth for a lifetime of leadership.
Come visit our booth and learn about the fun and adventure of Scouting for all ages!
Meet local living history interpreter Courtney Taylor at the Voices of Valor display during our 250th celebration.
